Can to tulip.
Appearance: mahogany in color with a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: mangoes, star fruits, papayas and a little bit of light lemon sweet to tart aspects, sour and tart wheat-ish tones far underneath
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a very nice tart to sour then underscore of sweet vibes; finishes with the star fruits and mangoes
Texture: light to medium bodied, slight sessionability; light smoothness but then tart and sour shrapnel hit the tongue just as I expeceted it to and this is not for the faint of heart
Overall: this is not a sour ale for newbies, unless you like that sour slaying to your tongue. Me, well, I liked it and would welcome this again.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: rustic copper color with some transparency to it and a one finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grassy, floral, piney and subtle berry hop tones with some light malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a nice clean bittersweet tone; finishes piney and floral
Texture: medium bodied, might be a sipper as it's not as smooth as I thought it would have been and has some hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: nice as an American DIPA, I might give this one another whirl if given the chance.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: slightly darker than what I thought it would have been with a more copper color; a two and a half fingers of white foamy head dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet grains, modest amount of grassy hops, light earthy hops too
Flavor: leans towards the sweet side meshing those prior noted aromas; finishes quaint with the earthy to grassy hops
Texture: light bodied, sessionable; some smoothness along the tongue
Overall: not bad as a lager, but a true German pilsener? Hmmmm, we'll leave that up for debate.

Can to weizen glass.
Appearance: cloudy burnt orange color with a two finger white foamy head, moderately dissipated to leave subtle lace
Aroma: hefeweizen qualities of banana esters, sweet wheat, some bubblegum and then sweet coconut
Flavor: mostly sweet then some spicy yeastiness running in underneath, coconut becomes a lil' bit distracting
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability about it. The carb seemed at the correct level, delicate wheaty/bubblegum finish
Overall: I think this brewer wanted to do their take on a hefeweizen and I guess it works, so it's decent enough to return to, maybe.

Pikzwarte kleur zonder schuim. Geur is zeer zoet, vanille, marshmallow. Retronasaal: heeeel zoet, vanille, beetje kunstmatig, boozy. Smaak: zeer zoet, marshmallow. Dikke body. Alcohol lijkt niet 17%. Smaak blijft lang hangen.

Bottle shared at the 2025 Pre-Christmas/NY Zaandam Borrel. Poured almost black in colour with little life. The aroma is roasty, herbal, light chocolate. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a silky smooth, super rich, oily, chocolate, herbal, aromatic, warm boozy, liquorice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Black with no head. Big marshmallow aroma with bourbon, booze, candy, chocolate and vanilla. Very sweet. Definitely boozy with noticeable alcohol warmth. I hoped for more, but it’s a bit rough around the edges.

75cl Fles, sample bij Kerst/NY tasting Zaandam. Zwarte kleur, dunne beige kraag.
