Bottle at home. It pours hazy orange - amber with a medium white head. The nose is very bready, spicy, cereal, barnyard, wood and sweet biscuit. The taste is bitter-sweet, digestive biscuit, bread, caramelised sugars, light alcohol boost, cereal and some spice with a dry, bitter - sweet finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent old school ipa vibe. Doesn’t knock your socks off, but enjoyable enough anyhow.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Deep mahogany body with a medium beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of brown bread, tea and weak filter coffee. Flavour of caramel, toast and Marmite. Thin body with a slick, oily texture. I really struggled to detect any aroma. And the flavour is pretty muted too. Is this a Mild?

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of marmalade, orange peel and tea. Flavour of honey, orange and herbs. Big bitterness. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and boozy but balanced by the bitter hops. Challenging but tasty.
