Cask at the Attic brewery. Poured a clear light amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, light woody hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, somewhat light, earthy, light yeasty, woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford. Pours a dark copper with a small foamy off-white head. The aroma is mainly malts with a few traces of floral hops. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with nuts and marmalade to the fore and hints of floral hops, which grow stronger in the long finish. This is decent enough,

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours golden yellow with a medium sized foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and mango in the aroma – but not to any great extent. In the mouth it starts off slightly bitter with a creamy texture but the bitterness quickly increases to dominate. Flavour has floral hops, pine resin and mango plus a hint of ginger. Later on generic citrus becomes prominent alongside traces of lychee and kiwi, and this leads to a foul tasting sticky finish. This was a very nice beer – until let down by the citrus.

Cask at Bod, Alsager. Pours golden amber with a medium sized foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and citrus in the aroma. In the mouth there is a very brief sweetness before floral hoppy bitterness comes flooding through with plenty of citrus, mango and melon. Finish is dry and sticky. This is decent, but a little too much citrus for my tastes.
