RBESG Sheffield, day 2, Riverside. Handpull. Light hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts/cookies, bit of fruitiness. Flavour is malty, fruity, light bitter malty finish. Drying mouthfeel.

Cask @ The Riverside, Sheffield. Blonde. Soft raspberry aroma. Earthy hopbitter flavor with hints of pineapple. Dust. Honey.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Tar black with a ring of cream head; vanilla aroma; flavour starts with sweet vanilla but then develops a big hot of chocolate malts with lingering tobacco and smoke overtones; the finish has more vanilla and chocolate over some strong leafy hops, leaving a rasping ending. Iโm not sure Iโd have more than one of these.

Cask at Cloisters ... copper ... creamy tan head ... soft chocolate and quite malty nose ... big chocolate front with a odd earthy bitter finnish ... little woodyness ... but great depth and balance ... a real winner.

Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Ever since having the Black Ice Iโve always had a soft spot for this brewery. Mid chestnut in colour, lasting thin dark beige head. Great looking beer. After 3 bottles of German lager, this is great. A malty best bitter, full in mouth and then this burst of hedgerow green earthy hop. So drinkable itโs untrue. Lacing on the glass to die for. The peppery/nettle/green hawthorn leaf hop on the finish is outstanding. Itโs just one of the best, best bitter Iโve had. Bursting with malt and red fruits and hedgerow hops. Outstanding.

Guest cask at the Dartmouth Arms, London, England on 22nd June 2009. Pale amber coloured ale with small but lasting off-white shallow head that laces well. Herby hoppy aroma then intensely bitter kick which is enjoyed on a lively textured mouthfeel. Then a prolonged dry and very bitter finish. Excellent and worth seeking out. I have seen the beer in one other venue in the past 48 hours.

(Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki, on 2009-06-16) Golden and almost clear. Medium sized, dense and long lasting white head. Malts and fruitiness in aroma. Medium bodied and dry palate with low carbonation. Malts, fruitiness, grass, bitterness and yeast in taste. Fruity and bitter aftertaste.

Cask at the Wenlock Arms, London on 14th June 2009. Solidly and intensely black with small off-white head which quickly dissipates. Strong chocolate on the nose then a sharp and intense burst of bitter chocolate and vanilla which register side by side in the first kick. A long, deluxe bitter chocolatey finish that becomes drier. Delicious, and a very good dessert drink too. Very enjoyable, and not too strong at four and a half abv.

Cask (handpump) @ JDW, Edinbourgh Airport Landside, Edinburgh, Scotland.Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, chocolate, dusty, vanilla, cheap artificial vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate harsh cheap vanilla bitter with a long duration. I was not able to drink this, it is way over powered and very very artificial ;o(( Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090413]

Cask @ Marble Arch. Manchester, M4. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some hints of caramel. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a sweetish roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.
