Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grass, grains, bready malts, some slight notes of maize. Flavour is maize, mild grassy notes, some hay as well as mild honeyish and salty notes as well. Refreshing and nice on a hot summers day.

Bottle. So I guess I’m on a bit of a Latin American/Caribbean pale lager tour right now, finding a cluster of them in FL stores while here. Pour is predictably boring... watery apple juice color with little head and a pretty constant stream of bubbles. Aromas are apple juice and skunky hops (but the hops aroma seems to die quickly after opening the bottle... it was there, now it’s not.) I like the flavor on this one, though. Sure, it’s apple and honey malt (but not a ton of corn syrup gunkiness) with a little bit of herbal hops. Still, Barbados is leading the lager pack right now...

Originally rated November 2009. This Caribbean lager showed up at the LCBO. Hope it is spicy like their food. Pours a pale golden colour with lots of medium-sized bubbles, a big frothy white head, decent retention and good dirty lacing. The nose is malty at first with some spiciness. Then, it turns into the normal swill aromas that I find disgusting (probably cheap hop... kind of rusty). The taste reminds me of club soda, wet with that mild salty and carbonated gas finish. Some light malt is there the whole way, that is not bad. Refreshing overall (which is what those warm countries want), but not something I seek right now (as it is starting to freeze outside). Ahhh winter !

Bottle from Half Time. Pours pale gold with a somewhat fizzy white head. Aroma is mildly grassy, and dispite the brown bottle it seems a tad skunked. Med body. Maybe it was grassiness rather than skunk. It is mildly bready and nicely bitter. Better than expected.

Big time sweet, some brown sugar and not as much molasses as in the aroma. More caramel though it does have a bit of a weird aftertaste.

Semi-drinkable pale lager. Dull golden color, fluffy head. Aroma starts dusty but hints at floral and spicy hops. Flavor has some weird citrus (oranges, lemons) that isn’t from the hops, but more like a real fruit flavor (though none is used). Its a bit offputting actually but it subsides into a semi sweet grainy lager with a mild hop presence. Mouthfeel is light but even and not watery.
