thick syrupy sweet fruity nose with a bit of wood and caramel. Thick mouth, too syrupy sweet, but not bad. A touch too woody and a touch stale note. Very average.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malty and bitter hoppy, The flavour is medium bitter, malty with some slightly floral hoppy notes on the palate. A super pale ale it must be said and a very appropriate session beer.

Bottle. Clear glowing gold with a large white head that laces well. Aroma of peach, passionfruit, oranges and their blossoms, pepper, candi sugar. Moderate carbonation keeps it just short of syrupy. Sweetish and fruity but strong bitterness kicks in straight away. Mainly oranges and peach, the passionfruit notes seem to disappear. Zestier citrus flavours than suggested by the aroma. Certainly boozy but only a little rawness to it. Not super clean (thankfully) and the oranges and spices have a Belgian edge to them. Intensely bitter finish leans a fair way towards dry with citrus and pepper. Not really my bag, but thoroughly enjoyable.

(Bottle) Clear dark mahogany brown with red hints and a very thin tan head. Lovely aroma of coffee with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Full bodied with moderate but bright carbonation. Amazing taste that keeps evolving. Initial taste is rich dark toffee with some balancing sharper notes of a typical porter. Coffee, dark chocolate, hop bitterness and maybe some alcohol bite develop. This turns into a finish that tails off very slowly with gentle chocolate and vanilla flavours. Very impressive beer.

Hazy amber beer with a big pale tan head. Palate is airy and soft and light. Mild fine carbonation. Nice nose of dessert wine - mango and peach. Mild creamy malt with a toffee streak. Mild minerals and aniseed alcohol. Lovely wine tones, honey - orange and red berry fruits. Sweet candy - dried fruits - dessert wine. Finishes smooth and dry with a pinch of spice.
