Established in 1830
The origin of the brewery and distillery Gebr. Sünner was located in Cologne-Deutz. Today it is the oldest Kölsch brewery in the world and has been owned by the Sünner family since 1830. The origins go back to a small house brewery called "Zum Schiffgen" with a distillery and taproom. In 1846 the brewery moved to the current premises in Cologne-Kalk. With Astrid Schmitz-DuMont, the sixth generation of the Sünner family has taken over the management of the brewery and continues the tradition of the family-owned brewery and distillery.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts and a bit unpleasant, a bit like cattle feed. Very grainy. Taste malts, again pretty to very grainy, a bit bitter. Not very nice at all. Drinkable, but way too malty and not light and crisp as I had hoped. Meh. Rating: 4-3-5-2-9= 2.3 -- Re-rate only on figures, September 12th 2016. Bottle on holiday, bought a month earlier in Germany. Much fresher this time than the bottle I had before.

Flaske 500ml på rom 507 - hotell Aveny i Umeå 11 Jul 15. Lys gylden. Lavt tett skum. Aroma av eple & syrlig malt. Smaken mer eple og en anelse korn. Holder seg lett syrlig. Forfriskende - men vel mye kullsyre.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Crystal clear pale golden colour, moderate to low white head. Moderate aroma of floral and herbal hops. The flavour is herbal, medium dry and quite crisp, with distinct bittering hops in the aftertaste. Refreshing. Fair enough.
