Bottle from Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy orange with a big, slowly, diminishing, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of apricot, mandarin, cheese, yeast, orange peel, vague triple sec, herbs. Taste has sweetish apricot, mandarin, yeasty profile linked with doughy & honeyish malt, sourish accent, bitter herbs, spices & orange peel. Peppery hoppy finish, a tad grassy, yeasty, orange peel accents lingering. It took a while to actually get the aroma because it's rather subdued; the end result is a nice, refreshing drink, but there's nothing remarkable about it. An Italian Trappist is still a curiosity, but Scala Coeli inevitably falls in the mediocre segment.

Clear briljant deep amber colour, tall frothy white to off-white head, uneven half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma pale and sweet malts, peach, orange, sweet melon, toffee, alcohol notes. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malt dominates, toffee, resinous hops. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation sweetbitter aftertaste, resinous, quite sharp mouthfeel, peppery notes, rich and well-made old-fashioned IPA, good.

Pours blonde, fairly clear, mild amber glow. Relatively big white head. Bit creamy in texture, but fading medium fast. Still keeps a nice base foam though, it doesnt dissapear completely. Taste is bit malty, but not very fresh. Herbal grainy notes, bit honey like. Still 2 years on the best by, so I am not convinced this is trough age. maybe it was shipped and or stored to warm, but even than... Taste is likewise. Grainy, malty, but very unfresh. very hebal. Hoeny like quality ( yet not the honey sweetness ). perhaps a milder touch of DMS ? relatively bitter, but it doesnt blend in nicely. Not a big fan. High carbonation, medium to medium thin body .

Pours unclear, amberblonde. Medium to medium small white head. Relatively creamy, and very stable. Smell is mildly citrussy, tad 'green' hops as well (herbal hoppy aroma) Very distant maltyness. Clean fermentation profile. Taste is full, tad bitter. Almost a westcoast style IPA, which I didnt expect. it's got resins, a decent bitterness (not extreme). A bit malty (crackers, white bread). Tad citrussy but mostly pine hoparoma. Decent IPA.

Hazy orange, lots of white foam. Lots of citrus, some tropical fruit, resin. Hoppy, some sweetness. Nice trappist IPA.

33cl bottle from Rob the Gourmets’ Market in Brussels. F: huge, egg-white, very long lasting. C: deep gold to amber, hazy. A: malty, bit orange, caramel, biscuits, banana, bit tropical fruits. T: medium to full malty base, grapefruits, orange, bit caramel, bready, spicy, bit mellow tropical fruits, long lasting harmonic bitterness, medium carbonation, actually better than I expected, enjoyed for sure.

Golden color. Bottle, slight gusher. Pear, caramel and sherry. Smells and tastes oxidated. Pear in the sweetish floral flavor. Citrus, honey and sherry. Thin, but not too bad.

Fles geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel oranje bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een fris zoete licht bittere geur. De smaak is fris, fruitig, sinaasappel en een wat kruidige afdronk.

Ginger, caramel, apple nose. Cloudy amber, medium head. Caramel, pear, ginger. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Interesting, but where in the heck is the ginger coming from?
