In August 2015, the Mad Fox Taproom opened in the Glover Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. We're proud to provide a unique dining experience that pairs our handcrafted, award-winning beer with an appealing menu created in a scratch kitchen using locally-sourced and sustainable products whenever possible. All of our craft beers are brewed on-site using the finest ingredients sourced from across the country and internationally as well. Our 63-foot bar serves as the centerpiece of the brewpub where we showcase up to ten standard, house-brewed draught beers on tap as well as a rotating selection of seasonal brews in German, English, Belgian and American styles. Taste our cask conditioned proper Real Ales served through water-jacketed Angram beer engines which ensure that every pint is served at properly conditioned cellar temperatures.

On tap at Meridian Pint. Poured a very dark brown color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma was coffee and nicely roasted malt notes. Touch of dark chocolates, nuts, some earthy hops. Flavor was roasted malts, some light hops. This was pretty drinkable, especially on the hot summer day.

Gravity dispense at GBBF ’13, 15.08/13. Lightly hazed dark amber with a thin off white head. Nose is juicy hops, light pine, grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter orange, hops, light pine, grapefruit, juicy tropicals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, slightly sticky in the finish. Decent enough DIPA - the alcohol is well integrated.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a watery but opaque black with some tan head. Nose has some chocolate, some bread, cracker, stale coffee, molasses. Flavor is nice, lighter than I thought it would be, mild sweetness, dry toasted bread, molasses. Dry finish.

On cask at the brewery. Dry hopped with HBC 342. Pours a clear gold with some very thin, white head. Nose was very pleasant, a really interesting white grape character which must be from the dry hopping, a little honeydew, some grass, some malt. Flavor is lightly sweet, mild honey, a little melon. Clean finish. I think the HBC 342 had a nice impact on this.
