750ml bottle I picked up a few years back at the brewery during the night of my buddy’s wedding. Pours a murky, ruby amber with some thin, eggshell head. Nose has wood pulp, red grape, some vinegar, soured malt, some blood orange. Flavor follows along, mild vinegar, mild tart fruit, blood orange, unripened pear, cedar notes, a little cleaning fluid. Oily, tart finish. This seems to be either peaking or on the back end.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 11/11/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, light caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balances citrus/floral hops and pale/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, light caramel, light toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of citrus/floral hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a nice crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice and pleasant pale ale style. Good balance of citrus/grassy hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
