Description
Elysian Brewing Company operates three locations of which Elysian Capitol Hill is the main brewery and a full production brewery – Elysian Airport Way, in the Georgetown neighborhood (since 2011). Known both for classic styles and for flexibility and innovation, Elysian has brewed over 500 different recipes since opening in 1996. While Elysian’s brewers use a variety of unusual ingredients, they are seasonally notorious for their pumpkin beers. In 2015 Elysian joined AB InBevs' family of craft brands.

12 oz. bottle. Black, with a smaller, frothy, brown head. The aroma is raw cacao, chicory, resin, nutmeg, and grass clippings. Not very sweet, with a harsh, sticky bitterness. Medium to heavy body, grainy, and clingy. Kinda aggressive, but not bad.

Tap at Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux, New Orleans, LA, USA. Pours (in a plastic cup) orange gold, scarcely transparent, with Aroma is weak, a little citrus and tropical. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is rather bitter, pungent even. Final is average, still with quite some bitterness.

Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate and rye bread notes. Taste has burnt malt, heavy cocoa. Palate has cinnamon, burnt nuts, coffee, cocoa. Eh.

(Thanks, Jim! Ozzy70) Bottle. A- Pumpkin pie, apple cider, spice. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Pumpkin pie filling, apple skins, clove, nutmeg, allspice. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- Nice pumpkin beer, maybe even a touch of apple flavor. Higher abv than I expected. I don't love the aftertaste but it's a decent pumpkin beer.

Can. Orange-amber beer with an off-white head. Tropical fruit and citrus aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with earth, and tropical fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Tropical fruit and earth linger with pine and citrus. Becomes a bit muddled.
