Bottle from Beer Lovers, Vienna. Pours clear amber with an average sized, quite short lasting, white head. Aroma of malt, hop, fruit, veg, grass and caramel. Quite heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily and watery texture, average carbonation. Finish is sweet, caramel, with a mild but slightly sharp underlying bitterness. Fair.

Draught @ Beer Shop. Faintly cloudy copper red with small foamy off-white head, faint caramel malt aroma, medium carbonation, mildly bitter toasted malt taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Another nice Marzen.

Draft. Lightly earthy caramel malt and dry hay aroma. Cloudy amber with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet honey, milk, caramel malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Great body and balance. Smooth and fuller bodied than the official Oktoberfest beers of today.

Beautiful chestnut-ruby beer with a small cream-coloured head, gone in seconds. Sweet, syrupy nose, concentrated cherry aroma, fruity character. Very sweet-syrupy, yet in the best possible way. Again a very fruity character, dried fruit (dates, figs,...) and dried red fruit. Obviously very syrupy MF, thick body, perfumy aftertaste. Txs to Stef! 7/4/8/4/15

This acquisition was made, surprisingly to me in hindsight, in Montana on a trip to visit Yellowstone Park. The 16.9 oz bottle is opened and poured into my favorite small tulip tasting glass. The body is a dark brown complemented by a momentary light brown head. I take a good smell and detect grain, malt and just a hint of dark fruit. With a drink I find more of the malt, hay, cough drop, rock candy plus a small bitter finish. While I am not that familiar with doppelbocks, this beer compares favorably with Vetters 33 that I sampled a few weeks ago. A bit less sweet, perhaps the better for it.

33cl bottle. Caramelly round beginning. Grainy bitterness, caramelly body. Grain and moderate bitter in the mainpart, the dry roasted caramel is there, but not too smooth. Round and bitter dry caramelly aftertaste.

Zwart bier zonder schuim Smaak is zoet, krachtig en ietwat bitter kruidig met iets van karamel, druiven en chocolade.

Semmi hab, narancssárga szín, szűretlen. Illata intenzíven almás és déligyümölcsös, némi citrusos beütéssel. Sziruposan édes, déligyümölcsös, citrusos, enyhén citrushéjas, alig érezhető gyantával. Rendkívül testes, enyhén szénsavas és kesernyés, hosszú édeskés lecsengéssel. Nagyon intenzív ízvilágú, finom desszert sör, bár egy picit lehetne szárazabb.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, vörösesbarna szín. Savanykás, vörösboros, hordós illatok, enyhe animális és karamelles beütéssel. Fanyar, savanykás, vörösboros, hordós, vaníliás ízvilág, némi animális és halvány karamelles aromákkal. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Nagyon finom, frissítő, jól összerakott, izgalmas ízvilágú sör.

Swietny lodowy mocny kozlak. Nie ma się co tu przyczepić. W smaku ogolnie (bo zaraz będzie bardziej szczegolowo) przypomina mi bardzo belgijskiego quadrupla (jakości (St. Bernardus). Piana srednia, średnio trwala, smak slodki, melasa, syrop z agawy, klonowy, daktyle, rodzynki, trochę dżemu z fig. Wszystko to zalane porto lub sherry. Tresciwe, lekko oleiste piwo uderzające do glowy niestety, ale nadmienię ze nie wyczuwalny specjalnie i nie utrudniający testowania ten toksyczny czynnik. Zapachowo jest rownie ciekawie co smakowo. A mianowicie mus orzechow laskowych z czekolada. Nutella mi się tu kojarzyla, bydyn swierzo zalany do foremek no i może pudding. Doskonale deserowe piwo, idealne do popicia sporego kesu wyśmienitego tiramisu. Polecam
