12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours clear copper with a medium white long-retaining head. Aroma is almost non-existent--some wet dog and grain and that’s it. Taste is malty sweet with light tang; has a faint bitter finish. First noticeable flavor is metallic--not a good sign. Some caramel and grain in there. Highly carbonated, light-bodied. Starts to lose its cabonation towards the end. Terrible.

Bottle, thx to fonefan. A clear, yellow-golden beer with a quite small off-white head. Honey, lemon and not much else in the rather weak and boring aroma. Heavy on the carbonation, medium body. Lemon peel, some honey notes and pale malts in the flavor. As the aroma, quite weak. Short finish. Not a bad beer, at least when bad means off, but it’s super boring and way too carbonated. Lacks on quenching qualities too. 110219

Pours a clear brown with a smallish beige head that sticks around for a while. Smells of bread, sugar and caramel. Not very strong in anything, but mostly malt. Taste is a bit better. Caramel and brown sugar mixed with some burnt sugars meld very well. Bit of a bitter and then alcohol bite in the finish. Taste is very sweet, mouthfeel is the same sweet and sticky. Carbonation is high, body is medium. This one is ok, it has some bock character to it, but its not the real deal. There is nothing offensive here, it certainly is drinkable. Think Michelob amber bock or shiner bock.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is oranges, bitter chocolate, caramel, ripe bananas, and oak. The flavor is sweet first, with a significant bitterness in the middle. The finish is a mild, lingering bitterness. The palate is medium to heavy with a lot of carbonation. The feel is a little acidic. Overall, a flavorful and interesting beer.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.[ Trade by auderale ]. Clear medium yellow color with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, grain, fruity, wheat notes, honey notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, warm sweet, malty, light honey. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110108]

Pours a solid black with a good sized tan head that gets sticky on the glass as I get my drink on. Aroma is vinous with some dried fruit. Taste is chocolaty and fruity up front with some alcohol burn and bitterness in the finish. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with just enough carbonation. Great impy stout, I wish I had more than one I’d like to see this one age. Great job Lienenkugel!

Pours a solid black color with a decent sized tan head that shows great retention and moderate lace. The aroma is a bit roasty and fruity with a strange almost plastic phenol in there that detracts from everything else. Light earthy hop and a hint of ethanol round out the nose. The flavor is roasty and chocolate with a fair amount of dark fruit along with some brown sugar and caramel. Thick body with a rich creamy mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. This beer finally made it to my state, and since I enjoyed it so much the first time, I jumped at the first four pack I found. How’s that Don Henley song go? "Don’t look back, you can never look back" Either this beer has really changed, or my palette has. This is a decent stout, but really nothing special.

Originally rated June 2010. Purchased on my trip to Nashville. Big light pink coloured head that is frothy, has good retention and lots of webbing lace. Slightly hazy peach-pink colour. Man ! This is a cooler !! No sign of malts or hop. Just alcoholized berry juice. Sweet berry nose, sweet berry taste. Thank God they say they added some honey to this. Not what I expected from this brewery.
