Description
Formerly known as Boerenerf Eyelenbosch.

Pours clear, rather dark blonde. Small white head is persistent. Scent is fairly generic (yet great!) lambic, mild barrel expression - let it be known i'm not all that familiar with PDC - So I woudln't be able to call it out specifically, if I hadn't known beforehand. Noticably mineral though ! Taste is very full, mouthfilling acidity without going over the top. Barrels - or the little I know and expect from them - shine trough very nicely, mild oxidative notes. Very malty, fairly fullbodied, and a wide, but not to high, not too big bubbled, carbonation. Bit salty almost, very mineral. Nice barrel profile, but the real standout here is the lambic - though very modest in aroma, the taste is quite damn good indeed !

After having sipped (still a few bottles for better pours) the sherry edition, which was nothing less of absolutely amazing, expectations were high for this one. To have them met by the barrel and surpassed by the lambic, is a great thing. Boerenerf seems to continue it's path to the top of the game in both fruitlambics as well as barrel experiments. And i'm very, very pleased with that + how well they're available to us mortal flemish people :)

Bottle shared by Johnny. Kind of bright, yet unclear, reddish with a distant purple hint colored beer, no head in the end. Aroma is raspberry, fruitpeel, tart, green apples. Flavor brings similar notes, with raspberries and sour tart red fruit up front more dominantly. Perhaps, after a while, there is some cognac to detect in the aroma and the flavor as well, however hadn't been on the bottle label I doubt I'd have detected it. Lovely beer though.

Spannender Hybrid!
