12 oz. can from HEB, Boerne, TX. Pours a crystal clear dark amber color with a thick khaki head and excellent retention. Good, but short-lived nitro action. Light lacing. Caramel malt and hops aroma. Boozy yet smooth caramel and hops flavor too, but the flavors are masked by the alcohol. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Low, soft carbonation. Light bitterness. Well made, but too strong for me.

From a can. Pours a clear dark amber with a tan head. Aromas of toffee. Flavors are moderately sweet caramel.

Half pint @Thirsty Growler. Dark brown with gold highlights. Frothy AF. Unsalted peanut nose, perceptibly acidic. Matte chocolate nose. Taste is heavy peanuts, middling milk chocolate, odd fennel, sharp green bitterness, hidden acid, unsweetened chocolate on the finish. Okay-ish. Heavy on the -ish.

Ember draught, 3/25/23. Clear, pale blonde. Small, white head. Moderate retention. Corn, fresh barley, strong yeast, a bit of light glue, pretty unobtrusive. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this doesn't sell well. Possibly a line infection, or maybe just whatever was before this is influencing it. Soft and malty, crisp and with lovely cereals. Sadly a bit of glue and heavy fruit though no big sharpness. Feels more like the bar and much less the beer.

Bottle shared at BBT 2/2023. Rather full body, med-low carbonation. Lots of coffee character, cold brew, nutty, dry cocoa. Pleasant med-light spiciness which works in synergy with the malt. Nutmeg, liquorice. Med-high bitterness, mostly malty, light sweetness. Quite easy drinking, with a bit of chocolate likér feeling. I like it. Very good.
