Can day 21 if the beer advent calendar that I curated for Loz. Consumed at home Friday 26th December 2025 Boxing Day, after an 11km Loop hike today from Zwiedlerwaldhaus to Großer Falkenstein, we had Kacchi Lamb Biryani from the Curry Guy book and Onion Bhajis and Poppadoms, listening to Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes. Another great beer that lets itself down by being far too sweet, thickness in the mouth, lots of chocolate. So appearance wise it is jet black, if there was a head it disappeared before I took notes. There's a little bit of nuttiness but I don't really understand this Dubai chocolate craze, in fact I have purposefully avoided anything to do with this until now. Is it just me or are modern imperial stouts becoming too sweet. Ok think this is pretty good but struggling with the sweetness. Score 7.0

Fles op 1e kerstdag geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een medium bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van Bourbon en vanille. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, koffie, Bourbon, vanille en ahornsiroop met een beetje rum in de afdronk.

Blik thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een troebel rood kleurig bier met een schuim dat snel weg trekt. Het aroma is vol fruitig en bosbessen achtig. De smaak is fruitig, fris zuur en bessen achtig.

Day 15 from Mr Hop Beer advent calendar, purchased from the webshop, Vernray, Netherlands. We had a homemade Thomasina Miers Picadillo Chilli for tea. Had this after a couple of days away in München with day trips to Salzburg and Rosenheim (Fin only, Loz was at work). Pours hazy mid yellow, slight thickness in the mouth, sweetness but a good hoppiness throughout, light warmth, a little tropical juiciness, really enjoyed this. Score 7.6

Hazed orange topped with a good sized creamy white head.
Nose is bitter orange, grapefruit, grass, pineapple, mandarin.
Taste comprises orange pith, grass, pine needle, ripe melon, papaya.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come lightly resinous hop bitterness.
Tidy enough DIPA.
Hazed orange topped with a good sized creamy white head.

This was Loz's Day 10 beer from the advent calendar I curated for her. Had this Wednesday 10th December 2025 listening to New Music Fix with Nathan Shepherd and Deb Grant on 6Music after Gorgonzola and Walnuts with Penne Pasta for tea tonight. Pours hazy sunshine gold actually it's heading towards orange, mid size white head. A touch on the sweet side, Loz gets perfume and yeah sort of with her on that, a little bit tropical and also get some sweetshop vibes with flavoured marshmallows. I wasn't a fan initially but it grew in me a bit. Score 6.4

Can. A mild to medium haze on this orange gold beer, small and short lived bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth pale malts, a good creamy sweetness. Superdelic, aside from being the worst named hop ever, brings smooth cooling pine, a mild and soft skunk. Mild hop spice. Back end brings tropical fruits and a touch of red berries, some candy fruits too boot. Light and semi dry finish leaves a hop fruity spicy linger. Nice job..

Blik gedeeld met Koenzie. Het is een troebel oranje geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van tropische vruchten en hop. De smaak is vol fruitig, zoet, tropical mango en ananas en hoppig.
