Another one commemorating the first World War. Hazy peach blonde tripel with very thick, frothy, dense, sticky, egg-white head. Aroma of banana, biscuit, straw, mango, peach, grass, a whiff of burnt bread and melting plastic. Subdued fruity onset, some unripe peach, gooseberry, relatively soft carbo, lean pale malt body with a very slightly caramelly accent to it, little bit bready perhaps as well, with a herbal, grassy hop bitterness in the finish but a more solvent-like wryness as well, a bit ’plastic-like’ and disturbing the balance. There are more than enough redundant, mediocre tripels around in Belgium as it is, and other than taking advantage of the World War commemorations from a purely commercial point of view, I don’t see the point of this one.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah. Clear orange golden color, small to average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste light to moderately malts, lightly a hint of yeast, lightly a hint of brett somehow, light to moderately bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Not bad, worth a try.
