Castle Rock Brewery
Commercial Brewery
in Nottingham,
Nottinghamshire,
England 🏴
Associated with 17 Venues
Established in 1997
Adrian Redgrove was appointed in 2004 and the brewery went from strength to strength, producing high quality and consistent beers time after time after time. From the opening of the brewery, production grew from 30 barrels a week to over 100 barrels a week in 2010. Word spread and Castle Rock’s reputation grew.
In 2010, with the second brewery bursting at the seams Castle Rock underwent a further expansion, with a whole host of new equipment and an increased capacity of 360 barrels a week.
Today the brewery continues to create innovative new beers, while remaining consistent and of exceptional high quality. That said we reassure our customers that it isn’t ‘job done’ and we will work hard to continue to provide the very best beers that we can possibly deliver.

Cask at the Alexander Hotel, Derby. Straw with a thick white head; citrus aroma; citrus flavour; strongly bitter to finish. Straightforward and boring.

[cask at North Wiltshire Beer Festival] Caramel dominates but rather bitter for a mild. Not great.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb’ 08 Pours more lemon but moving toward golden, nice bubbly white head. Fresh floral aroma, the american hops starting to make their presence felt. Great crisp refreshing beer, sweet malts and lovely fruity flavour, this drink’s far better than it should and more than held it’s own against some of the bigger beers on offer. Very popular and justifiably so, this is a corking session beer.

Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb’ 08 Pour’s clear golden with nice white bubbles atop. Malts on the nose along with some wispy traces of hop. Crisp refreshing beer with good interplay between sweet malts and the citrus hop. Tasty and moreish, nice and fruity, drying at the end.

Cask handpull at Pembury Tavern, London. Beer of the festival for me. Black with ruby edges, lasting tan head. Good roasty nose. Some charcoal, liquorice. Nice choc. Somewhere between a dark mild and a porter.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A hazy golden beer with a thick off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light touch of hops. The flavor is sweet with a very crisp malt note as well as a light hop note - too light for my liking, and the body is thin. A quite refreshing beer.
