Very dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are packed with bitter, heavily roasted malts. Quite smoky. Long lasting bitter finish.

Clear brown with thin head. It's a nice full flavoured bitter with a nice balance of malt and subtle hop bitterness. Full and also sessionable.

Clear brown colour with thin head. This is a great example of an ESB. Lots of malty notes. Brown rye bread and a sweet element of raisin. Slight roasted bitterness.

Cask @ Waterhouse, Manchester. Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival. Clear dark amber with a creamy head. It has bready malts and is a tad gritty for it. There’s a hint of sweetness too. Has an easy enough texture.

Cask-conditioned at the WG Grace (JDW), Bristol March 2022. Reddish amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Leafy hop character, some red berries and tangerines, sweetish and slightly bready malts and a moderately bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Large foamy white head stayed on a highly carbonated clear golden coloured body. Sweet, bubble gum & floral aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & soft over the tongue with sharp back. Bubble gum, peach & sweet hoppy tastes followed by a long bitter finish. That's good.

Thin beige head on a golden coloured body. Big fruity aroma with orange & peach. Medium bodied, smooth & limp on the back. Stone fruit, zesty citrus & orange tastes with a tangy finish. A bit nondescript.

Rocky beige head on an amber coloured body. Malt & toffee aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & cloying. Caramel, toffee, malt & yeast tastes with a bitter finish. Unusual but tasty.
