Cask at Cairngorm Gold at The Cairngorm Hotel, Aviemore. It pours clear gold with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is soft, malty, biscuit, some sweetness, doughy white bread and toasty grain. The taste is dry, twist of citrus, floral, toasty grain, peppery spice, floury bread and biscuit with a dry finish. Average body and fine, foamy carbonation. A pretty ok cask golden ale. Fine on the side with a whisky.

Bottle picked up at Aberlour Deli. It pours clear deep reddish brown with a big, foamy off-white head. The aroma is earthy, caramel, toffee, brown bread, fruit cake, bit of toasted nut, wood and pie crust. The taste is dry, earthy bitterness toothy, brown bread, dried fruits, fruit cake, varnished wood, hint of tannin and resin with a woody finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Toothy with a bite. This bottled version ain't too bad. Grew on me.
