Description
Galibot is a microbrewery located in Forbach which was known at the time for its mining industry. It is the result of the merger of two small breweries, the Tom & Charly brewery and the Schoenecker Brau brewery. It specializes in brewing beers with low and mixed fermentation which gives them fresh and authentic flavors. This well represents the spirit of the brewery since it pays homage to its territory through its know-how and its values but also thanks to its name. Indeed Galibot was the name given to workers in coal mines.

330ml bottle kindly shared by Finn at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Next-to-clear golden body, patches on the surface, not much lacing. Moderate pale malty smell with a citric bite. Blended taste of cereal malts, lemon, and herbal hops. Rounded, mid-dry, pale malt-driven end. Medium bodied. Okay pilsner. (Tromsø 03.02.2023).

# 3423; 1/2023. Candy, fruity aroma. Hazy amber body; off-white head. Fruity, malty, spicy, candy. Well, it is quite good and interesting beer, but there is nothing connected to bavarian hefeweizen. 0,33 l, bottle, supermarket, stored on a shelf (out of a fridge) in the store, Forbach (Lorraine, France).

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere Advent Calendar - Hazy brown body, rocky top. Nose is malt forward, dates, raisins and a bit of burnt mocha. Chocolate in the taste, more malts, a bit of watery spices. Decent enough.

Bottle from the Beer Hawk Advent Calendar. Aroma had caramel with a touch of espresso and dark chocolate. Opaque cola brown. Creamy beige head. Medium bitter, the aforementioned chocolate and coffee. Juicy dark berry edge provides tang. Creaminess/yeastiness into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. I like. Certainly hits the spot.
