Farrell’s home town back in Colorado was named after the confluence of the Colorado and Grand rivers. As luck would have it, Gent is also named after the confluence of two rivers, one of which runs right past the brewery. It was playing with this happy coincidence that brought us to Stroom – a place for creative connection.

Clear amber to orange beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet impression, strawberry jam, malty, grains, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty start, grains, slightly sweet, a bit sourish, good bitterness, some strawberry jam, pretty dry. Aftertaste: bitter, grains, some caramel, hoppy, more strawberry jam, nice!

Pâle, léger voile, col épais crémeux blanc.
Arôme est frais, mentholé, orange, melon, pointe d’ananas avec un léger effet thé noir en rétro-nasal, fruits à noyaux dont la pêche.
Palais est sur une solide IPA classique – tropicale, pêche, agrumes, petite note malt caramel avec effet barbe à papa. Floral dont un effet pot-pourri, ananas qui donne une fine note acidulée, léger pin voire résine en toute fin de bouche.

Dorée, col épais crémeux blanc.
Arôme est léger boisé, fruité orange, floral avec un nez sur les céréales – wheat assez plaisant.
Palais sur une ‘wheat ale’ correcte, style pas souvent proposé. Grains sont bien présents, orange, léger aiguille de pin, douceur fruitée en fin de bouche.

Dorée, col épais crémeux blanc.
Arôme sur un houblonné plutôt floral – fleur de jasmin avec une note diacetyle de la levure américaine – effet aussi un peu sur les esters.
Palais est malté pâle/pils pour une bière naviguant entre style belge et américain. Sec sur les céréales, je peine à vraiment retrouver le côté ‘fresh hops’, et je note plutôt fermentée des houblons. Fini léger sur le caramel.

Clear yellow blond beer, creamy dense white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of lactobacillus, sourish impression, funky, nice. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a little bitter, a bit watery, a hint of pineapple, gentle acidity. Aftertaste: pretty dry, acidic, fruity touch, a bit lemony, some pineapple.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small irregular aery beige head, falls down quickly, a bit adhesive. Aroma: nice, good roast, lots of whisky, caramel, sweet impression, chocolate, vanilla, some ripe banana, a bit yeasty, lots of dried fruits, dark raisins, bread crust, sweet impression. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body, a bit of an alcohol burn. Taste: bitter start, good roast, lots of alcohol, coffee, some banana peel, more roast, coffee, caramel, dark chocolate, quite some vanilla as well. Aftertaste: a little sweet, sourish touch, pretty bitter, some ripe banana, lots of alcohol, good roast, a little malty in the finish.

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy dense beige head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice roast, some chocolate, banana, yeasty, a little fruity, some green apples, dried fruits, caramel. MF: ok carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: good roast, bitter chocolate, ripe banana, yeasty, bitter, a bit hoppy, some coffee. Aftertaste: more banana, yeasty, chocolate, good roast, some bitter hops, sweet malts, caramel, nice stuff!
