Farrell’s home town back in Colorado was named after the confluence of the Colorado and Grand rivers. As luck would have it, Gent is also named after the confluence of two rivers, one of which runs right past the brewery. It was playing with this happy coincidence that brought us to Stroom – a place for creative connection.

330ml can. Pours a bright cloudy golden-amber with decent white top. Aroma is grassy with blood orange and zesty grapefruit. Its bittersweet with a stewed blood orange, grapefruit, lime. Quite nice although lacks a touch in the finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.

33cl can, BB ?, merci à Tim!

28/II/25 - 33cl can from the brewery, shared @ home, BB: 10/I/26 (2025-151)
Clear pale yellow beer, big slightly irregular white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sulphur, some citrus, yeasty, CO2, hay, some barnyard, a little herbal, a hint of citrus, more sulphur. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: a bit sourish up front, slightly lemony, more of that sulphur, pretty bitter, a little medicinal, almost metallic touch, grassy notes. Aftertaste: more lemony, a soft acidity with some bitter herbal notes, some arrowroot, sulphur again, metallic finish, not very good alas.

12/II/25 - 33cl can @ De Trollekelder (Gent), BB: 29/XI/25 (2025-132)
Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots of caramel, a bit oxidized, malty, a bit nutty, earthy, gentle roast, some hazelnuts. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of alcohol, gentle roast, lots of whisky, a bit sweet, some caramel, bitter, hoppy, more alcohol. Aftertaste: gentle roast, hoppy bitterness, pretty dry, lots of whisky, alcohol, malty, a bit sugary, nice one, but could do with some ageing I recon.

Fluffy white head over veiled ochre-golden beer. Citrus is unmistakable; other grains also obvious, muesli. Faint cake bottom flavour, citruspeel. Blood orange is certainly believable; preserved citruspeel as well. Good carbonation, at least medium bodied and quite slick. Nice, but nothing stellar.
