Description
Brixton Brewery is one of London’s established craft breweries, making beer in the heart of one of London’s most colourful and famous neighbourhoods. We were founded in 2013 by two local couples, Jez and Libby and Mike and Xochitl, but our shared passion for beer started years before that, when we met in the old Hive Bar (now Craft Beer Co. Brixton), and bonded over newborn babies, and a dream of opening a brewery. We reckoned that every great neighbourhood deserves a great brewery, and we wanted to bring one to Brixton.
In 2017 Brixton Brewery announced the biggest news in its short history. That it had partnered with Heineken UK in a deal that would enable the business to open a second site in Brixton, boost capacity nearly tenfold from its 3,000hl site to up to 30,000hl, and significantly grow its team as a result.
As per 2021, Brixton is 100% owned by Heineken.
Brixton now only carry out small-scale brewing. Production brewing moved to Beavertown in September 2024.

Bottle shared with rlgk, fonefan, ChrisO and beerhunter111. Clear pale golden color, average to decent sized white head. Aroma is quite faint, slightly a touch of hops in the distance perhaps. Taste wheat, lightly malts, light to moderately hoppy,, moderately bitter. A bit thin bodied but quite crisp and clean. Decent.

Bottle. Market Row Wines, Brixton. Cloudy, orange gold. Bubbly, lasting, sticky, white head. Nose has really punchy grapefruit, peachy, mango type hop to it. Some orange peel and zest. Background of biscuit malts. Hint of pineapple, even. Super juicy. Taste is light, fruity, citrusy bitter. Some biscuit sweetness. Bit of pith. Decent body. Soft fizz. Finishes much the same, with some dryness on the close. Super drinkable.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy gold beer, thin white head. Palate is light, semi dry and has reasonable carbonation. Thin malts with thin creamy sweetness. Bold piney hops. Minerals. Trace of tropical fruits. Light semi dry finish. Piney tropical linger. Thin and a tad dry but very good flavour.
