Well, just noticed that Grand River was sold to Magnotta, so this is a good news. Never really liked much GR, but always thought Magnotta was more consistant. Slightly unfiltered, golden-amber with a big frothy warm cap, good stay and sticky-foamy lace. Big citrus aromas with mostly orange notes and hints of lime peel. Some caramel malts shows up with time in the backbone. The taste shows this caramel base with the milder hops giving some decent dryness in the finish. The hops are not the best for me in here, but still seem real, not chemical. A decent Session IPA.

Bottle from Julien_Huxley, thanks! Black, pours a huge head. Ash and licorice in the aroma. Malty salty flavor with hints of ash. Very dry for an imperial stout. Licorice. tasty, aromatic, but tough to pour this one.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark copper with a one finger cream coloured head that fades slowly and leaves tight lace. Nose is caramel, raisins, roast nuts, molasses, grass, a hint of smoke. Light+ molasses sweetness with a light+grassy bitterness. Mouth is medium and slick with average carbonation. 7/3+/6+/3+/14

Deep dark brown colour with a ruby hue, fair frothy tan, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, cocoa, caramel, licorice, espresso. Taste light heavy sweet and medium bitter, roasted malts, dark chocolate, Turkish/Greek coffee, licorice, fruity notes. Sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, coffee groundings, fruity and spicy notes. Full-bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation; a rich and round RIS, delicious.

Pours a clean copper-amber colour with a beige frothy head, average stay and some light foamy lacing. Malty nose with some coffee notes, caramel and grassy hops. These hops are also too present in the taste, and do not blend well with the malts. The roastiness is nice, but the hops come and screw it up. Really, they call this a Wee Heavy?!?
