Thanx Ian.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy amber color with a one finger white bubbly and foamy head. Light lacing sticks to the sides of the glass after the head dies after a minute.
The smell had a ton of roasted caramel maltiness up front and then a light toffee ends up making an effort to come forth but mainly stays in the background.
The taste was sweet caramel malts with a better indication of the toffee coming out in the taste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. There’s a decent sessionability about this. The carbonation finishes fairly smooth.
Overall, a decent red ale I’d probably have again but don’t expect much hoppiness from this one.

500ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slighty grainy aroma, bitter hoppy overtones, inexplicable fruitiness. Taste is moderately bitter hoppy, fruity, a mixture of red berries and yellow stone fruit, nut paring dryness. Not concrete, somehow simply hoppy and malty. New metaphors required.

Bottle at the DTE tasting, Den Haag. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, zesty citrus, light band aid. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a dry medicinal band aid palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a clear light yellow color lager with a medium size white head with light retention. Aroma of grainy cereal notes with light sweet undertones is not the most pleasant. Taste is also dominated by grainy cereal notes with some light sweet notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. No apparent adjunct but malt bill is less than stellar.
