Description

(Ceramic bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, orangey golden with a small, off-white head. Tart aroma with some smoke. Very full-bodied with a low carbonation. Acidic - a citric acidity - some smoke and a dry finish. Very odd indeed. 100507

(swing top bottle) Hazy, deep golden to orange colour with virtually no head. Sweet pale malty aroma, slightly bready with orange-fruits and strong notes of alcohol. Syrupy sweet flavour, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Strong malt character with an orange-fruity touch, almost oily texture; strong malty, subtle bitter finish. Fat and alcoholic kind of “Imperial Doppelbock” at an exorbitant, almost ridiculous price according to German standards. Not really bad, at least interesting. Definitely not a session beer.

Keramikflasche: Hazy, deep golden coloured, very small foamy layer; sweetish fruity, slightly sourish, cellary nose - a bit Gueuze-like - with a touch of alcohol; sweet-bitter flavour with a light acidity, medium to full bodied; sweet-malty, fruity-sourish, slightly alcoholic finish. An odd brew, not really unpleasant, but who really needs it............

LCRBM2. Copper colour with white head. It has some toffee flavour. Spicey/tangy finish, Bit chewy in mouth, but the alcohol is pretty crude.

Bottled. A still, golden beer with no head. Lots of beef-stock in the aroma, with sweetness and some sour notes. Sweet flavor, with green apples and alcohol. The alcohol is not that dominant, considering the high ABV of the beer. Sweet, full body. A bit too much, this beer. Rating: 6-3-6-3-13-3.1. 060428

Bottle. Dark golden in color, more or less clear, and topped by a small, white head. Very sugary nose with fruityness. Not much else going on. It’s full-bodied and warming, and rather sticky. The same goes for the flavor, it’s too sugary and sweet, and even though there’s other flavors, it’s too one dimensional, and actually rather boring. I like it in a way, but it certainly can’t be drank as a beer, it’s more of a night cap for those of us not suffering from diabetes. Strange thing is, there’s some berry-like sourness in addition to all the sweetess. 120108
