Description
Sig Brewing Company is a small family-owned brewpub located in Tacoma’s Historic Brewing District. Our goal was to differentiate ourselves in as many ways as possible including our beers, food, and taproom. We were fortunate enough to hire a talented head brewer in Jeff Stokes and opened our doors in the spring of 2020. We love craft beer and are very proud to be a part of its local community.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a transient dark smear. The amburana wood dominates the aroma. Arguably full bodied. Malty and not dry, but far from sticky. Bitterness balance from the wood I think. The flavor is primarily the amburana wood, but there's some coffee in support. Rather pleasing flavor.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear bright amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is malty/spicy/grassy. Near med body. Drier than expected. Moderately bitter. Flavor matches aroma. Nice.

Can from Tavour. Pours hazy gold with a transient white head. Aroma of peach, citrus, kumquat. Med body. Juicy but only a little sweet. Lightly bitter. Flavor is peach, kumquat, citrus and a few other things I think. Nice flavor.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Hazy orange gold pour. Massive, pillowy white head is slow to dissipate, leaving behind cascading lacing. Aroma of stone fruit and papaya. Flavor is more stone fruit. Notes of peach, papaya and apricot. Slightly viscous mouthfeel. Not picking up any citrus at all. Sticky and pulpy. At 12.3% ABV, the alcohol is rather subdued. This is a truly unique brew. Quadruple ales are rather rare and this one is a standout example of the style.

Dark brown, no head. The adjuncts aren't coming through with much brightness, but the base doesn't really pop a whole lot either. It's light and sweet, lacking bitterness, and while there's a bit of maple, that's it. Not a whole lot else really making an impression.

Poured from 473mL can. Very dark brown with minimal light beige head. Mild wood and vanilla with hint of maple syrup, almost no coconut. Average.

Aromas are lots of caramel malt with a little citrus and hints of resin and MJ. Flavors are similar to nose with citrus coming forward and caramel going back. Alcohol is well hidden. Pretty amazing for a quad IPA.

12oz (thx, Josh!) @ SF

Taste: along the same lines, a lot of barrel, kinda harsh and not nicely balanced.
Overall: ok.

Medium brown, with no head. This has a really nice fruity aroma, light figgy notes, some mellow bourbon accents. On the palate, this has a sweet sultana note, some syrup, and a bit of barrel, the port coming through a touch at this point, leading to more alcohol in the finish. Good balance. This is good.
