Description
The Lumberbeard Brewing story isn’t a complicated one. It is much like the way we like our beers: simple, straightforward, yet full of creative adventure.

Bret, our president and head brewer, fell in love with beer and the craft of brewing at the appropriate age of 21. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics, he pursued a sensible job in the finance world. It didn’t take long for him to realize that being at a desk was not for him and he wanted to become a professional brewer. That passion led him and his family to California where he went back to school to earn a Professional Brewing Certificate at University of San Diego. He swore he would never go back to school, but beer will make you do some crazy things. From there, Bret worked as a professional brewer for several years before taking the leap to open his own brewery in Spokane.

Lumberbeard Brewing was founded in 2018 and we are so excited to have you along for this crazy journey. We are committed to making excellent beers and desire to create a community where everyone feels welcome, cared for, and can find a beer they love!

16 oz. Aroma has notes of orange, passionfruit, guava, Kool-Aid powder. Pours hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste is moderately sour (7/10) with POG flavors. The vanilla's starts out pretty faint, but it really starts to pop after warming up. A little thin and watery. Not bad overall.

Near black in color and topped with a creamy brown head. Big time aroma of peanut butter, graham cracker and s'mores. Creamy mouthfeel is full of flavor; chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter. One of the best s'mores stouts I've had to date. The peanut butter is a great addition. Thick and flavorful with minimal heat from the high ABV.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Special Brews. Glowing golden haze with plenty of thick foam head and lacing. Mosaic sure is awesome, and I didn't need the beer to convince me of it. It did anyway. Smooth and juicy hazy here, full of fruity hop character. A slight grassy note late as well. Soft biscuit grain background. Very hop forward hazy, a little different than the usual around here, I'd say. A refreshing, amd really easy to drink brew.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. As disappointed as I've been about my slacking on getting over to Spokane for a beer trip, I'm glad my local is grabbing cans like this. Clean and clear golden pour. Fading head. Nice grassy, classic hop nose. Flavorful, balanced taste here. Citrus underneath grassy hop profile, with a nice malt balance. Very soft fruity hop profile. Just overall a flavorful, and quite enjoyable IPA. Happily adding these guys to my list of places to stop when I head over to the far east side.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound along with a bunch of other Lumberbeard brews. Love it when a new brewery comes to town and drops a bunch of stuff. Glowing, half hazy golden pour with a patchy foam head. Really nice imperial here, that drinks as easy as anything. Really nice hop bill that features all kinds of fruit like character. Totally get some berry like taste here. Always love a fruit filled imperial in which no fruit was harmed. Smooth, creamy body, and a refreshing finish. No way this clocks in at 8.5%. Overall, just really impressed with this brew.

16 oz can poured, picked up at Hop and Hound. First brew of many I hope I get to try from these guys. Glad they made it over to my super local. A clean and clear pale golden appearance, plenty of loose foam head. Active carb, refreshing taste throughout. Straw like grains, gentle hops. Crisp lager feel, with exceptional refreshment. Really easy drinking. Solid brew.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Hazy golden pour with a soft, creamy ring of white head. Piney, citrusy aroma. Taste follows with same vibe, maybe a lean towards the pine. Mellow, soft. A near perfect blend of the hazy and NW styles.
