Bottle thanks to David. Appearance - golden orange with a thin head. Nose - honey and Seville orange. Taste - creamy orange with honey and gentle fudge. Palate - full bodied with a rich thick texture and a fairly balanced finish considering the Overall - barley wine by numbers, thought they’ve restrained the alcohol note well.

650ml bottle courtesy of AshtonMcCobb, cheers Ash! Pours dark red-brown, thin white head. Aromas of dark barley sugar sweets, creamy toffee, dark honey. Taste has a nuttiness, lots of dark sugars. I was expecting something along the citrus/pine/resin hop hit, but in the end, just a solid, by the book, British barley wine.

650ml bottle. Clear, reddish brown, dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Rather expressionless malty aroma has a touch of red berries and wet straw. A minimally sweet, caramel malt guerilla with a fruity touch of red berries fights a forlorn battle against a plain, ignorant, soapy and bitter hoppy totalitarian regime trying to sedate the peoples with almond-like sweetmeat. For us Europeans, spoiled almost exclusively with California’s first-class products, this is an hitherto rare example of mediocrity.

Murky deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth with good fine carbonation, semi dry. Smooth creamy malt streaked with toffee. Little alcohol spice. Nice hops - bitter spicy marmalade. It all comes together very well, nicely balanced. A big chewy barleywine! Nicely done!

Murky gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is dry and crisp. Sweetish malts balanced by spice. Little malt cream. Dried orange underneath. A sweet and spicy dry finish. Not bad, pretty authentic tasting but I was hoping for a US twist.

I think this is the right listing, but it might have been a different barrel. Pours black. Small mocha head. Aroma has sweet cocoa, milky coffee, sweet spicy rye. Taste could use more rich chocolate flavor. A little booze. Coffee, dark chocolate and rye barrel. lots of coffee. Dark roast. Some caramel. Just a big dark malt flavor. Smooth mouthfeel.
