Brewery Announcement:
We are more-than-excited to announce the addition of our 5bbl Brewhouse in Alexandria, VA. Cabinet Artisanal Brewhouse is located in the same building as the former Shenandoah Brewery, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Terry Hawbaker, a 7 year veteran of Bullfrog Brewing, is our Brewmaster. With our special house yeast, will be focusing on making “primitive field” beers in our urban farmhouse brewery. A field beer can be defined as a grisettes, saisons, traditional lambics, etc… Terry has always had a fondness for reinventing European-style Farmhouse ales. Terry is by no means a traditional brewer, and he thrives by mixing up new and old brewing techniques. Barrel aging is certainly in the works, as this is an area where Terry has produced some of his most successful beers.

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, light peppery and fruity hoppy. Bitter, dry peppery and light fruity hoppy. Ends dry and bitter.

On tap. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze and a small white head. Very dry and yeasty aroma. Light body, notes of dry Chardonnay, a very dry fruitiness throughout while the yeast isn’t too dominant. Ends slightly tart with quite a bitter bite. 120512

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Very dark brown. Aroma of dark fruits (some plums and others) and some hops. Very dry flavor with some dark fruits, some licorice notes and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Interesting.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Clear golden. Resinous hops aroma, slightly grapefruity. Hoppy flavor, resinous, grapefruity and a bit piney, pretty dry with a very bitter finish. Medium-bodied.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Spicy aroma of camomile and some yeast. Spicy floral flavor, a bit soapy, with yeast, camomile, some fruitiness and a dry spicy finish. Medium-bodied.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Almost clear golden. Aroma has wheat, coriander, a bit of citrus and light lactic hints. Sourish fruity flavor with a bit of saltiness and some coriander, mostly towards the finish. Light-medium-bodied.

Draft courtesy of Terry, thank you sir! Hazy dark maroon color, thick eige head. Aroma of raw brown bread dough and subtle pepper. Taste is slightly sour pumpernickel bread. Very nice.

Draught at CBC. Frothy white fair mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flaor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.

On tap at CBC 2012. Golden with a white head. Fresh aroma of fruit, brett, cherries and salt. The taste was very dry and refreshing. This beer would work very well on a warm day in the coming summer.
