10 ounce at the brewery - hazy dark purple - I appreciate the traditional British take on this - nose is doughy, full of treacle, oak, and dark fruit - flavor is dark fruit, treacle, oak, tobacco, chocolate, indistinct booziness - slight acidity balances out the high sweetness and adds to the depth of the fruit flavors (black cherry) - a little sharp in the finish - pretty high oxidation makes this border on papery in the finish - but pretty good!

10 ounce at the brewery - clear dark amber pour - dry, nutty maltiness is forward - light tartness through the middle - very mild peppery phenolics follow through the finish - it’s fine.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a hazy orange gold with small white head. The aroma is peach, honey, oak. Slick body, light cinnamon, peach, tart, very good.
