Cask. Golden and clear in appearance, with a one finger disappearing white head. Fruity aroma, with hops and lemons. Taste is fruity, citrus hints, zingy, malty undertones. Medium mouthfeel, slightly clinging bitterness. Not bad.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - hazy golden with a proportionate head. Nice. Nose - honey and cornflakes. Taste - honey and cornflakes with a lemon kick on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry finish. Overall - a decent scooper!

500ml bottle from a local Tesco store. Decent beige head to a clear dark brown coloured body. Firm lacing. Aroma of mild leafy hops and brown malts. Liquorice, caramel and herbal hoppy flavours. Bittersweet ending of leafy hops. Soft in the mouth. Fair enough (hotel room, Leeds University 06.07.2014).

Clear deep amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light with fine carbonation. Smooth malt, unsweet dark toffee streak. Trace of cream. Whisper of citrus. Light finish. Says it’s a bitter but it really isn’t very bitter, it is a little dull.

Nicholson’s Beer Festival. Chestnut red cask ale with a small frothy head. Its taste includes some chocolate and is very drinkable.

On cask at Hectors. Appearance -golden with a generous frothy head. Nose - like breakfast cereal soaked in milk. Taste - lemon curd with biscuit base. It’s a lemon pie. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry finish which is part hops and part malt. Overall - getting into Bitter territory. Good beer.
