On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours golden with a little bit of an oily haze and a nicely proportioned head. The nose is like vanilla custard and meadowsweet. The taste has more of that custard and flowers thing. The palate makes it - medium bodied, big creamy texture but an elegant finish. Power with elegance, you don’t often get that. Overall, a stunning ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 25/08/2012. Deep gold with a slight white head. Sweet citrus fruit aroma with some grassy hops and a hint of lavender. Slightly oily mouth feel, with more orange fruit and a herbal lavender edge. Unusual.

Half pint, cask ale at The Victoria Hotel in Leeds. Slightly unclear, copper coloured body. Patchy, white surface. More fruity than malty to the nose. Fruit and resin-like hops in flavour with a malty support. Fresh fruity bitterness on the swallow. A decent version of the style (11.07.2012).

500ml bottle - black body, tan head. Bit thin and dull on the taste, but drinkable. An above average beer, but below average stout.

500ml bottle - This is a good one. Nice round nose of malt and dark fruits, a good syrupy oily mouth feel, good dark body with a lasting white head. Bit of booziness kicks in as an afterthought to let you know it’s got a bit of ABV there. A nice pint that goes down easily and surprisingly refreshing.

Best of a long day. Good golden colour with white head. Creamy texture, with a crisp hoppy taste. A good 3.7 / 5.0 for a good session beer.

Cask handpull at Christopher Hatton Hatton Gardens. Orange copper colour with lasting grey head. Hay grassy quite fliral hoppy beer with some bitterness. Yes drinkable. Not sure what it has to do with Hawaii though

Cask @ The Winstor Castle, London. Almost clear, golden body with a nice white head. Light malty aroma with a fine citric fruitiness. Flavor is soft malt with smooth citric fruit and decent bitterness. Very refreshing. Medium body, nice bitter aftertaste. Nothing really extraordinary going on here, but a solid dose of a well-brewed beer. Sometimes that’s what it takes.

Brown colour, off-white head. Malty aroma, caramel, light yeast, light milk chocolate. Quite bitter flavour, hops, sweet malts, boiled eggs. Caramel finish, more boiled eggs, light hops.

Cask, handpump The Chequers, Oxford 14.05.12 Light amber with a white head, good clarity. Little bit of a sicky smell on the nose. Good tasting beer the hops and the wheat combine rather well, however like mine it is just a tad thin at times. Pithy in mouth with a citrussy rub around the roof of the mouth. A5 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
