Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks mom for this bottle! Yellow. Corn, a bit of vegetables, sweetish, paper, slightly bitterish finish, watery.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 18, courtesy of myself. ours clear gold, small white head. Aroma is grassy, pale malts, light lemon. Taste continues along similar lines, clean, inoffensive. Not bad considering.

Can. Light golden color with a thin head. Light earthy musty skunk lager smell... tastes ok though. Sweet and malty. A little grass.

16oz can pours out a pale straw topped with a white head. Nose is sweet corn and some grass. Taste is more of the sweet corn notes and a light spice.

Can. Pour is a light straw color with a fizzy head and aromas of bread dough. Flavor is adjunct crap beer. Not much redeeming about this one and I’m usually pretty easy going on national beers I have with my feet in the sand. This one is a stinker.

Can poured into pint glass. Clear light gold body with a thin fizzy white head. Aromas were enticing for a split a second while I thought this had a little nuance but I guess that all those complex lager aromas disippated very quickly, leaving behind a metallic corn beer nose. Flavor is beach lager at its core. Nearly flavorless apart from a little malt sweetness and a hint of hops. That said, I woke to black-mandibles toucans in the tree outside our lodging and saw sloths in the rainforest today, so this beer also tastes like sweet victory.

At libf 2017. Thnx to Tinus for sharing ! Pours clear, wattery blonde. No real head. Smell is sweaty, full-on chemical maltyness. Taste is sharp, chemical malts. Bit dry, pointing probably at the used sugars ?

Bottle, bb end 9/17. Pale orange with a collapsing white head. Aroma of grain, corn, cardboard, some grass. Watery, carbonation is lowish. Very low on flavour - a little vaguely grainy sweetness, some cardboard, grass. Bitterness is low but actually stands out enough given the almost blank background. Poor mainly by omission.

The national standard lager from Costa Rica, from a can shared by the Belgian Ratebeer crew in Leuven, cheers guys. Snow white, loose and bubbly head, clear pale straw blonde colour. Aroma of damp cloth, popcorn, melting plastic, overcooked rice, touch of withering grass. Neutral, sweet grainy onset, popcorn-ish, thin with medium carbo, bit metallic, thin sweet-grainy, corn-like ending with a plastic hint but no hop bitterness worth noting - if any at all. Bland and boring as any industrial pale lager, even below average for this most industrialized of all beer styles, like many other Latin American ones. Nice for a country tick though...
