Description
Lancaster Brewery is a multi-award-winning regional brewer of beautiful beers, born and brewed in the North West of England.
Our beer is available far and wide, in cask and in bottles in great pubs across the UK and as far afield as Latvia and China. Stockists also include supermarkets and off licenses regionally and nationally.
We do brewing properly. No fuss, no shortcuts, just proper old fashioned brewing using Freshly milled malt (milled on site the same day that we brew), whole-leaf hops and live yeast that, combined with our expertise, produces some of the best beer in the country.
Our purpose build brewery has been built to be sustainable with our power coming from solar panels on our roof and all our used malt going to feed local free range pigs. We take the environment and our local community seriously, hosting a series of festivals each year at our Brewery site in Lancaster for people to enjoy.

Cask @ Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Golden with a small head. High on raspberry in both its aroma and taste, although it’s soured in the latter aspect that creates a bitterness. Thin in its body.

Cask at the moon under water JDW Watford. Clear straw coloured pour with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is fresh raspberry ripple ice cream and wheat grains. Aroma is fairly low. Flavour is grainy cereal and nicely integrated sweet raspberry. Palate is fairly dry and grainy. Slightly watery. Pretty well put together.

Bottle from Waitrose drunk on the train home. It’s a slightly perfumed English brown ale. Nothing out of place. Some sour biting character that is interesting. It’s an interesting bitter. Some orange fruit from the hops creates the sourness. Just an interesting 4% brown bitter with tasty orange flavour. Shows you can do this style well. Good.

50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell. A brilliant reddish copper colour with a loose, fading, white head; sweet spicy aroma; soft, earthy caramel, taste; with a rounded, nutty, finish. Rather satisfying, and easy drinking.

Cask handpull at The Blackfriar London. Clear deepish gold colour lasting white head. Well it does taste of blueberries. I was in two minds about having this as blueberries aren’t my favourite fruit. But this is decent. Good hoppy golden ale with real integrated fruit. Yep ok.

Cask at Haymarket. Hazy golden yellow, thin white head. Fresh blueberry aromas, some light biscuity malt too. Taste has a currant-fruit sweetness, light bitter. Little thin on the finish, but a nice beer.
