Cask @ Lloyds No 1, Milton Keynes. A lovely mahogany, little head/lacing. Faint aroma of Milo. Taste is sweet with bitter/sour tinges. Not complex but enjoyable all the same. Weak palette, unfortunate aftertaste. Liked it well enough, but wouldn’t order it again by choice.---Rerate of the bottle at Duke of Edinburgh, Barrow. Still a sweetish stout and a bit supermarket-beery, but much better than my previous rate would suggest. A7 A4 T7 P4 O14 Average rate = 3.3

Just found this old rating. On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - blonde with a nice cask haze. Nice head. Nose - creamy and the blueberry comes through. Taste - similar blueberry and cream notes. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a lovely elegant finish. Overall - interesting as I’d have usually expected to use berry fruit with dark beers. This works really well.

Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Light brown, little carbonation and almost no head. Conservative aroma of malt and bitter herbs. Excellent balance in the taste: bitter, sour and sweet all ficus into one refreshing sip. Bitter/sour finish and aftertaste. An extremely well-crafted Northern bitter.

Lovely looking 500ml bottle, posh cap too. Poured into a UK pint sleeve on 18th Dec 13. As the name suggests, this is chestnut red/brown in colour: the head a thin but full off-white covering. Mild malty nose with a nutty and fruity hint. The taste was also leaning towards maltiness and again with nuts and fruit: Fairly crisp in the mouth with a piney hop bitterness just below the surface. Nicely balanced. Medium bodied and most enjoyable. Went really well with some strong Cheddar and crisps.

Cask @ Fox and Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a very thin head. Has a bushy aroma but undoubtedly blueberry in flavour. It’s not over or underdone.

Bottle 0.5l from local market. Originally rated 18032012. Colour is clear golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Sweetness, grain and malts.

Bottle on the train from Plockton to Dingwall, thanks to SP, 19/10/13. Mid black with a good sized light tan head. Nose is roast malts, light hoppy backnotes, ash, touch of cocoa. Taste comprises light roast, earthy, dark malts, dark toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finale with light roastiness. Decent enough stout.

Gravity dispense at the Happy Man Autumnal BF, Engy Green, 11/10/13 - Bday XXXIX. Clear copper with a thin off white head. Nose is toffee, bread dough, dark fruits. Taste comprises toffee, paper, fruit cake, bitter orange. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Average affair.

Cask (Montagu Pyke JDW, London) - Copper coloured. Dried fruit and marzipan in the aroma. Fruity taste with caramel, fruitcake and marzipan.
