Bottle shared at Dean’s sticky table tasting. Pours hazy brown with no head. Aroma is really boozy, raisins, alcohol, like a bad gin, nothing like a black ipa! Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet. Thick burning mouthfeel. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Pretty bad.

cloudy brown, small light brown head. aroma is roasted malts, fruity coffee, rather maild. flavor is roasted malts, bitter woody spicy note. coffee.

Bottle at home, 29th June 2013. This pours deep black, aroma is musky hops and malt, some chocolate. Fairly light for the ABV and drinks below this, not bad, but maybe overkill, the bitterness really lingers, not overalls sweet because of this, reasonably balanced, not bad

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of coffee, alcohol, roasted malt, and bread, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

33 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee, toasted malty and breadish. Dry coffee, liqourice and mild citric. Bitter, herbal and toffee finish.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 11/2013. Dorée, col épais blanc qui disparait assez vite. Arôme rend ici le miel à perfection ce côté frais avec un raisin qui arrive en rétro-nasal. Le malt conserve un bouquet assez direct dans des notes pâles et crystals et assez neutre au point que le miel et raisin conservent une place dominante. Palais garde cet aspect de blonde belge avec ici un ajout de miel qui est généreux et donne un profil unique en bouche, presque huileux et organique. Le raisin quant à lui ajoute ce fruité frais qui arrive en retrait du miel. Alcool devient assez rapidement présent et réchauffant, rendant le plaisir de déguster cette bière un peu plus difficile. Je note très peu d’ajout du houblon si ce n’est un citrique modéré. Bière agréable mais qui demeure un peu trop pour une 33cl, j’aurais préféré un format 25cl voire 18cl. Cette dernière à le mérite de se rapprocher d’un jeune hydromel avec un profil mielleux et fruité qui donnent une belle longueur de bouche.

33cl Bottle, thanks Eric! Clear golden orange colour, white head. Aroma is quite floral, XX Bitter-esque, malty, lots of bitter plastic/dead yeast (smells a bit like my first homebrewed IPA). Flavour is light malty, floral, bitter plastic, herbal bitterness, citrus hops, light toast, firm bitter finish. Light-bodied. This beer has some serious flaws, but it’s tasty enough for me.

33cl Bottle, as La Triple Brune IPA Mûrie en fût, thanks Eric! Dark brown colour, thin khaki-beige head. Aroma of wood, balsamic vinegar, vanilla, tart dark fruits, some roasted malts. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, dark fruits, balsamic vinegar, oak, dry and woody, tart-bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Don’t know if it was intented, but this tasted like a good Flemish Brown ale, in the line of Goudenband. Really nice.

golden amber color. Flat head, almost carbonation. The nose has touch of brandy, orange, fairly dry. The body is fairly lifeless. No bitterness. Pretty lame, but looks nice.
