Bottle: Pours clear golden with a fluffy, mid-sized head, which vanishes rather quickly; (pale-) malty nose with a touch of cardboard; mild but crisp sweetish flavour; malty/grainy aftertaste with some bitterness in the background. Nothing great, but a quite well rounded, quaffable Export.

Bottle: Pale golden, thin white foamy head, quickly vanishing; malty and grassy, a bit floral, nose; moderate bitter flavour; short dry, grainy, bitter and not very aromatic finish; light bodied without being watery; just a bit better than many boring german Pilseners !

(bottle) Pale golden colour with a bubbling foamy white medium head. Floral and herbal (pepper) hoppy aroma. Medium bitter flavour, medium to light bodied, moderate carbonation. Proper made German Pilsener. Clean malty start with a moderate bitter hoppy finish. Not outstanding but okay.

(Can 50 cl) Comes as "DAB Mellenöl" at 4,5% ABV. An unspectacular pilsener golden beer with a decent head and a marked bitter finish. Comes is a rather corny yellow can with a smiling sun and a red bikini top.... 280802

Bottle: Straw golden coloured, big white fluffy, lacing head; grainy nose, combined with some grassy hoppiness, very mild bitter flavour, short dry, but smooth bitter finish; all in all quite mild and better, because not so agressive, than the most "extract"-spiced brews

(bottle) Pale golden colour with a foamy white medium head. Grassy hop aroma, bitter flavour; crispy, well-carbonated mouthfeel, light to medium body. Grainy malty and hoppy taste, dry and bitter hoppy finish. Quite ok for that sort of beer.

(Bottle 50 cl Pale golden with a decent head. Lovely hoppy aroma but only a discreet bitterness. Very smooth and soft. Pleasant but unspectacular. 210901

(on tap at Hoppy´s Treff, Holzwickede) The fact, that legendary defence player Dieter “Hoppy” Kurrat of Borussia Dortmund - one of the heroes of the European Cup Championship of 1966 (finally against F.C. Liverpool) - tapped this brew personally for me, doesn´t make it better. Dark brown colour with a reddish shade and a small frothy white layer. Not much aroma except some toasted malts. Medium bitter flavour, toastmalty taste and a (retronasal) skunky bitter and thin finish. The nice swing top bottles are not available anymore as far as I know. One can get it still on tap in a few pubs in and around Dortmund, but better stay away from this bland and boring Alt, except for rating reasons of course.

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a medium sized frothy white head. Slight sweet breadish malty aroma. Well balanced & easy going Dortmunder. Solid malty taste and a nice hoppy and dry finish.
