Mauritius’ standard pale lager, bearing a very dense and creamy, frothy, snow white head sitting like bath foam on top of a pale greenish golden coloured, cristal clear beer with strong, attractive fizz. Very weak aroma of cornflakes and sweetish, simple white bread, some iron, mineral water and a faint whiff of dried grass. Neutral onset with fine sparkling on the tongue, some minerals, thin and slick, watery body, weak grainy pale malt sweetishness in the middle, soft and a bit oily, very simple and very feeble, a bit metallic, with only the slightest echo of grassy hops in the end, providing just a brief and very, very weak herbal bitterishness in the end, but not providing any structure at all, so that the whole palate ends as watery as it began. I had many more off-putting standard pale lagers than this one, but they were perhaps more off-putting because they had more taste. This one is surprisingly neutral even for its style, like cereals strongly diluted with mineral water; hops are as good as absent. As unoffensive as a pale lager can be - quenching alright, but that goes for mineral water too. Looks nice though, with a strikingly thick, papery and long-lasting head.

Country #85, thanks to Alex Gutierrez. Congratulations for your wedding. Golden color with a minimal and quickly diminishing white head. Aroma has notes of grain, cereal and light maltiness. Flavor is slightly bittery with light maltiness. Weak final with watery mouthfeel.
