Zapach intensywny, dojrzała cytryna, suszony ananas, suszone owoce tropikalne, zest z cytrusów, w tle lekkie nuty słodowe. W smaku raczej wytrawne, jasne słody, trochę biszkoptu, dojrzała cytryna, dobra czarna herbata, lekkie liście z malin, suszony ananas, świeże zioła, wytrawne żywice, całość dobrze ułożona. Goryczka dość wysoka, ziołowa, cytrusowa i żywiczna, dość długa, przyjemna choć mogła być lepiej ułożona. W ustach ściągające od goryczki, dość pijalne. Nasycenie niskie.

Hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is floral, citrusy, some mild acidic tones with mild nectar to it. Flavour is citrusy, mildly acdici with some minerals, some mild yeast and a bit earthy elements to it. Refreshing. Berliner Weisse flirting with Gose.

Optisch lichtundurchdringlich und rötlich-dunkelbraun bis nahezu schwarz. Die rötlich-braune, feinporige Schaumkrone wirkt wässerig-flaumig und hält mäßig gut. Der Duft betört mit kräftigen Röstmalznoten von dunkler Schokolade, einem leicht likörigem Charakter und überreifen, marmeladeartigen Noten von Cassis. Der Antrunk kommt schwer und wuchtig, sehr fein rezent, röstig, schokoladig, leicht rauchig malzig und süß-säuerlich marmeladig mit deutlichem Aroma von Cassis und Pflaume bzw. Powidl. Der Körper zeigt sich mit einer unglaublichen Fülle, sehr feiner Rezenz, sehr cremiger bis beinahe pastöser Textur und einem regelrechten Fight aus malzig-fruchtiger Süße und fruchtiger Säure. Keine Spur von alkoholischer Wärme, etc. Auf Gaumen und Zunge zeigt sich die wahre Explosion. Ein unglaubliches Zusammenspiel aus Malz (röstig, schokoladig, leicht herb, zart rauchig) und Frucht (Süße, Säure, Johannisbeermarmelade, Powidl, Fruchtlikör). Einerseits schwere Noten von Röstigkeit, Schokolade, Süße und Marmelade, andererseits aber auch diese Frische von Säure, Fruchtigkeit und zarter Herbe. Das macht dieses Bier zu einer unglaublich komplexen und wuchtigen Sache, ohne dass man dabei die 8 % Alkohol merkt. Keine Schärfe, keine alkoholische Note oder gar Spritigkeit. Trotz seiner unglaublichen Fülle überaus harmonisch und angenehm. Man neigt zwar zu kleinen Schlucken, möchte aber permanent nachlegen und so ergibt sich auch ein unwahrscheinlich gutes Trinkgefühl. Im Nachtrunk lassen die fruchtigen und süßen Noten langsam nach und es bleiben röstmalzbetonte Noten von dunkler Schokolade, mit einer zarten Rauchigkeit und sanfter Säure sehr gut und lange stehen.
Fazit: Ultrageil! Im Bereich von Imperial Pastry Stout geht da nicht viel mehr. Aromatechnisch vielleicht ja, aber was die Harmonie und die Highlights betrifft, wird es schwierig. Passt hervorragend zu Schokodesserts, ist aber ehrlich gesagt auch so schon ein Dessert für sich.

APPEARANCE: amber body and very slightly hazy with fine particles in suspension. medium-low beige head with medium-low retention. TASTE: initial medium-high malt flavor with fair richness (toastiness, slight sweet), followed by medium-high bitterness. unbalanced towards bitterness. finishes dry and excessively bitter. MOUTHFEEL: medium to medium-high body with medium-low carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a bock (or doppel) with ok malt presence, although not much complex. the excessive bitterness ruins the tasting rendering it unbalanced.

On tap at WBF 2025, pours an opaque dark orange with a small white head. Nose is like a peach creamsicle, sugars, and ice cream. Flavour is much the same, with peach creamsicle, ice cream, and some sugars. Not too egregious for a pastry sour. Meh.
