Description
It was 1857 when Hugo Bayerlein founded the Bayreuther Bierbrauerei. In 1872 Hugo Bayerlein sold the brewery to a group of investors. These changed the brewery's name to a public limited company and sold the shares to Bayreuth families. In 1965, the Maisel brewery, with its Gebr. Maisel brewery, acquired a large package of shares and thus provided a positive impetus for the further development of our Bayreuth brewery. In this way, the Bayreuth brewery was able to maintain its independence, develop positively and enter into a well-functioning cooperation with the neighboring family brewery. With a large portion of foresight, the managers of our Bayreuth beer brewery and the Gebr. Maisel brewery decided in the 1960s to use our capacities together. So the new location was selected jointly and the joint production facility was founded.

(Bottle) Pours clear golden with decent white head. Grainy peppery aroma. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste has a fair amount of caramel malt and sone peppery and metallic hoppy bitterness. There’s some bread and citrus notes in the start. A bit odd and the finish is rather harsh.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Light clouded brown with small white head. Aroma of sweet malt, cereal, grass, honey, a light dankness. Taste has a floral hop and sweet lager malt tinged with caramel and bread. Reasonable bitterness in the finish. Nice mouthfeel being medium bodied and quite slick. Brewery #1012 #20 in this style and this beer sits somewhere in the middle in terms of quality.

Schon recht brauchbar.
