Description
It was 1857 when Hugo Bayerlein founded the Bayreuther Bierbrauerei. In 1872 Hugo Bayerlein sold the brewery to a group of investors. These changed the brewery's name to a public limited company and sold the shares to Bayreuth families. In 1965, the Maisel brewery, with its Gebr. Maisel brewery, acquired a large package of shares and thus provided a positive impetus for the further development of our Bayreuth brewery. In this way, the Bayreuth brewery was able to maintain its independence, develop positively and enter into a well-functioning cooperation with the neighboring family brewery. With a large portion of foresight, the managers of our Bayreuth beer brewery and the Gebr. Maisel brewery decided in the 1960s to use our capacities together. So the new location was selected jointly and the joint production facility was founded.

Bottle, 5.3%. Mild cardboardy aroma. Cleay yellow colour. Quite stable white head. The flavour is rather spicy, as if from the hops. Not in a great way, but OK. Clean with a slightly rough bitterness.

50 cl swingtop bottle. unclear brown, small offwhite head that doesn’t last long. dry hoppy, bitterhoppy, almost a little citrussy, very faintly sweet aroma. aroma is definetly very subtly flowery or fruity. flavor is quite sweet, almonds, caramel, sort of like a sweet cake dissolved in water with some bitterhops to balance. drinkable, but not my favorite flavor. strange fruity flavor might be from a mild infection, but probably just is how it is supposed to taste.

bottle, pours a deep gold, bordering light amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is light, some toasted malt, nutty character. Light toasted malt body, some dough and bread flavors, ends mildly bitter, with a short dry finish a thin bit of toffee lingering for a few seconds. Light to moderate in carbonation.

Slightly hazy golden with a small white head. Nicely balanced aroma of malt, German hops and a little DMS. Sweetish malty flavour with just enough hop flavour. Soft and full mouthfeel

Brown with a lasting white off-head. Bready, somewhat caramel-ly malt aroma. Sweet, rich malty flavour, lots of bready Munich malt character, and not quite too sweet (but borderline).
