Description
It was 1857 when Hugo Bayerlein founded the Bayreuther Bierbrauerei. In 1872 Hugo Bayerlein sold the brewery to a group of investors. These changed the brewery's name to a public limited company and sold the shares to Bayreuth families. In 1965, the Maisel brewery, with its Gebr. Maisel brewery, acquired a large package of shares and thus provided a positive impetus for the further development of our Bayreuth brewery. In this way, the Bayreuth brewery was able to maintain its independence, develop positively and enter into a well-functioning cooperation with the neighboring family brewery. With a large portion of foresight, the managers of our Bayreuth beer brewery and the Gebr. Maisel brewery decided in the 1960s to use our capacities together. So the new location was selected jointly and the joint production facility was founded.

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Slightly hazy, amber in colour with a momentary white head. Earthy, malt aroma with some underlying sweetness. The flavour had plenty of caramel, a fruity edge and slightly spicy, bitter finish. Ok.

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Clear pale gold and thick white head. Just a little cardboard, but otherwise its a perfectly fine lemony helles. The lemony hop on finish is good. Yes, a simple, perfectly good slightly hoppy helles, which is what it is supposed to be. I bet that this is really good on draught at the brewery. Very good helles and in fact no cardboard at all. Brilliant really.
