Pours a cloudy orange, with a moderate, though short-lived head - aroma is pretty bland, just some faint, bready smells - flavor has pretty much nothing going on - some yeasty, slightly bitter, pale-ale-ish qualities - this beer is more boring than a britcom - can we start getting some good british craft brews over here in the states, please?

Pours dark, but still quite light in color for a stout - no head to speak of - no lacing either - smell is actually much more port-like than I thought it would be - quite a sweet aroma, with dark cherries and raspberries - flavor is robust and roasty, but the port flavor is quite understated, given its abundance in the aroma - a pretty good stout, but I was hoping my first port-infused beer would be a little more original and exciting - medium bodied, with a dry finish that leaves a bit of a hop bite.

Hazy yellow-amber color with a very large loose head. The nose is very enticing with apples, lemons, peaches and rye. The intial taste is a little sour, but then fruity flavours, oranges and peaches with a hint of rye grain enter the picture. The body is very spritzy, ending ever so slightly tart. ROCK ON. I left this in the trunk of my car and then it froze and the beer was actually frozen outside the bottle until it warmed up and retracted. I wonder if that had any effect as my rating seems a little high. Better than their Port Stout IMO.

Pours dark red-brown, with a creamy tan head resembling nitrogen carbonation. Aroma is mainly roasted malt, with a touch of port. Dry, rich roasted chocolate flavor with a bitter finish, with subtle hints of port. Thin-bodied but has the nice tight carbonation of a bottle-conditioned brew. One of the better stouts I've had in awhile.

Hazy light amber, beige head.Faintly floral carmel malt nose.Cidery, almost vinegary malt flavor. Possibly an old bottle. If not, a very poorly made beer.

This beer pours a deep dark brown with a ruby hue and a thick light tan head. Both the head and the lacing are foamy and lasting. Slightly vinous aroma with roasted malt and coffee as well. The body is not as rich as a lot of Stouts, and the taste leans toward a bitter coffee, along with cocoa/chocolate and malt. The port wine that is added does not really enhance the flavor much but it is more present in the aftertaste. I like what this Stout is hinting at, especially considering Port wines are among my favorite. The finish is somewhat dry and bitter and lingers with the coffee and Port flavors. Overall this is pretty good.

Dark brown to black color, poor head. The aroma is mild, nice, with a cheesy yeast. Normal Stout, dryish, with just roasted malt, its harshnees and bitterness rising at the end. Not too interesting.
2003-02-12, bottle, 6-5-7-4-14=36
Dark color, generous thick head. Pleasant roasted malt nose; yeast. Dry mouth-feel, dominated by the roasted malt, with hints of coffee and chocolate; liquorice; too much carbonation. Dry-bitter final, also dominated by the roasted malt. The driest among the stouts I tasted.
Can you find the Ferreira Port in it?
