A big light tan head with great lacing. The nose features chocolate, earthy and citrus hops with some coffee and cream. The taste profile is a nice balance of the elements from the nose. Add to that a touch of caramel, roasted malt and cream and you have a great black IPA.

A well made, fairly \"Old School\" stout by a great Canadian brewer. A rich dark tan head on a brown/black body. The nose includes malt, some chocolate and a touch of fruit. Right off the top a hint of wood smoke gets your attention. It is followed by more traditional stout elements - roasted malt, cream, slightly bitter coffee and cocoa. There also seems to be a decent hop background under those tastes, but there are a number of bitter or roasty tastes going on here, so it is hard to tell what is generating them. Typically well crafted.

Dull, pale, hazy appearance with a weak head. Candy watermelon aroma, also a touch yeasty. Base beer is slightly tart, yeasty, vaguely wheaty gose, overlaid with a very artificial candy watermelon. Loses refreshment potential with that fake character.

473 ml can. Pours a dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of roasted malts, plastic, and bittering hops. Flavors of acidic chocolate, plastic and roasted malts. Drinkable, but distracting plastic notes.

Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, brown sugar and coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Easy to put back.
