[50cl can from my local Londis store.] A pale straw coloured pour with a fast fading white head; sweet grainy aroma; sweet grainy taste with a light grassy bitterness. Nothing wrong with this at all, it’s just a straightforward Eastern European lager.

500ml can from World Foods, Bristol. Clear golden pour yields a a thick foamy white head which quickly subsides. Grainy aroma, white bread. Taste is more of the same biscuity malts, bready flavors. Not bland, but not much else there either. Clean, no skunky bits.

Icey cold can my the Authentic Romanian Shop, Aberdeen. It pours crystal clear pale yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is freshly cut grass, floral accents, quite clean and airy. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, thankfully not sweet at all, light, mellow, airy, touch of grass, floral, cereal and a hint metallic with a dry finish. Light body and fine, prickly carbonation. Kind of surprising. Not particularly sweet, just super clean, light and airy. Crushable.

50 cl bottle. Bright golden pour, clean, with a foamy, short-lived white head. Aroma is very low: this is as close to water as it gets. Period. Mouth is crisp, refreshing and bland. Thirst-quenching, mellow, watery, bah.

Can (Dank am Lago!): Pale golden with a greenish sheen, clear, small creamy white head with a good lace, sweetish doughy nose with grassy and metallic traces underneath; mild sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied, soft at least; mild sweetish malty and mildly bitter finish. Not undrinkable…
