Clear golden with white head. Corn, rotten bread, cardboard, sweet grains and candy, light lemon. Sickly sweet. Pretty bad stuff, would not drink More than one.

Eines des bekanntesten Biere - in einer Gegend, die von leichten Strandbieren bevölkert ist. Da ist auch dieses Getränk keine Ausnahme. EIn leichtes Strandbier ohne wirkliche Substanz.

Bottle everywhere in Bali. Rated at Warung Pantai in Amed. Standard golden lager pour. Sweet malty aroma - again, standard. Taste is what you'd expect. Similar to a Tsingtao in that it's full-bodied and not as light as some macro lagers. Not as good as Tsingtao though. It's all that's on offer most places though so could do worse. Better than other Balinese options - Anker for one. As far as macro lagers go, it's not bad at all.

Can shared at a tasting a at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks omhper for this can! Black-colored with a light brown head. Aroma of cardboard, roast, some chocolate and a bit of vegetables. Sweetish flavor with chocolate, cardboard, some roast and light bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thin deep brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, earth, nuts, figs and quite a bit of molasses. Medium-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavour with the vanilla and raisins the strongest flavours around along with some nuts, figs and still unfinished wort also noticeable. Aftertaste is mostly sweet with some good raisins and nut sweetness along with a molasses flavour that dominates makes for a good difference than the typical pale lagers here, but interestingly enough, Anker Stout is better (in my opinion) than this one. Still, great to sample (and finally rate this, given my second trip to Indonesia) this beer poolside in Kerobokan, Bali, Indonesia purchased a few minutes outside my front door at Circle K for IDR26,500 for a 320 mL can on 28-June-2014!

--- Beer merged from original tick of Pilsener on 23 May 2018 at 16:26 - Score: 4 --- Beer merged from original tick of Bintang Pilsener (2022) on 28 May 2023 at 21:24 - Score: 5. Enjoyed at a vegan Chinese restaurant in Stockholm, SW while eating dinner with friends. I didn’t take tasting notes, but remember this being an above average mass produced lager, and did go well with my food. Appearance was a bit dark for a pilsener, but aside from that seemed like a good standard accompanying beer.
