Draft at the Lewes brewcafe. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty, light hazelnut. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, light liquorice bitter, with a somewhat light, smooth, light chocolate, yeasty liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Didn’t taste so good if I’m honest. Rather yeasty, bordering on funky sourness. Certainly no major creamy sweetness. Maybe I had the first drink from the tap.

The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a somewhat smooth, fresh, light piney, juicy mango, grapefruit, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

440ml can from Middle Farm, Firle. Poured a clear yellow golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, fresh, light herbal, light lemon citrus, light earthy, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation. Can’t say I enjoyed this. Didn’t seem balanced at all. Can was BBE 03/26, but it just tasted stale.

Cloudy red pour with a small white head. Aroma is cherry, red currant and malt. Taste is redcurrant, sour cherries and only a hint of malt. Nice and tart. Not bad for an AF.
