Cask @ Cloisters, Edinburgh 021011
Light brown, thin white head, good lacing.
Aroma of caramel malts, unusual cereal herbal aroma, light grassy hop.
Taste of grassy hop, caramel malts, slight perfume, unusual grain taste, sweet malts.
Palate - light bitter finish, soft carb.
Well made beer, but I didn’t really like the rye in it which gave a beer a funny cereal taste.

Keg at the Port Street Beer House, 14th September 2011. Nice IPA, smooth, different taste to some IPAs, not too sweet, not as thick as some for the ABV. Good Beer, would have this again - probably just a half at 7%

Cask, at Port Street Beer House, 14th September 2011. Gorgeous Ale and my first experience of a smoked beer, aroma is smokey, but not overpowering, mouth feel is oily and the taste is light smokey, makes you want to have more.

Draught at the Red Squirrel, Edinburgh. Pours dark amber with a decent head. The nose has sweet pine, there’s a hint of heather honey and definitely something floral. The taste has an interesting earthy-spiciness, then raisin, cereal and something a bit farmyardy. The palate bodied with quite a thick texture and it nearly cleans on the end. Overall, an interesting beer!

Tap @ the Caley Sample Room. Pours gold/amber with a small head and not much bubbles. The nose has citrus and gentle malt. The taste is really burnt and astringent - I struggle to get anything else. The palate is again hard to enjoy because the burnt note goes from start to finish, even though it’s got decent structure and texture. Very unbalanced. This may need a re-rate because Blairgus says he put a vodka in it.

Cask-conditioned at Cloisters, Edinburgh 7/06/2011. Amber with a billowy white head. Big, grapefruit, gooseberry and peach notes with some balancing sweetish malts and lingering dry finish. Excellent.
